Georgia Magic Officers

Michael Green, Executive Director and Head Coach

Coach Green was born in Duluth, Georgia and has resided In Gwinnett County for all of his 48 years. He is a graduate of Berkmar High School and attended Mercer University. He is married to Suzy, and is the father of two daughters, Gretchen and Samantha. He has been successfully self-employed since 1976 as President of The Jordan's Group, Inc. and CEO of Waterstone Properties. He is an active member of WBCA, YBOA, AAU and is certified with the State of Georgia High School Athletics Association, as well as being a member of the LSAC (local school advisory committee). He is also a member and serves as a Deacon at Chattahoochee Christian Church and is a recent inductee into the John's Creek Rotary.

His coaching experience has come from years of study, research and playing the game of basketball. His relationship with girl's sports blossomed through his own two children's participation at an early age in basketball and fast pitch softball, which he started coaching in 1986. His record off the court in his relationships, combined with his coaching style reflects his belief in teaching athletes to succeed with a positive attitude and hard work in order to achieve the dream of playing college basketball.

Because of his love of the sport of basketball and lack of support during his high school years to achieve his goals, he has dedicated his time to making sure that all of his girls are given the opportunity to exhibit their talents both on the court and in the classroom.

He has coached AAU Girls Basketball for the last 16 years. Eight of his teams have reached the Sweet Sixteen at AAU Nationals, with his 1999 18 & Under team winning the AAU National Championship, 2001 AAU runner-up at the National Championship at 14 & Under, and his 14 & Under team winning in 2003.

Paul Meiere, Executive Director and Head Coach

Coach Meiere is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in Georgia all of his life. He is a graduate of Newnan High School, Emory University, and Emory Law School. He and his wife Leslie have three children, Paul III (Trey) age 30, Scott age 24, and Leigh age 24. Coach Meiere had been employed as an attorney since 1968 in the Atlanta area, and last year taught history and law at the Paideia School in Atlanta where he has also served as the girls’ basketball coordinator and girls’ varsity basketball coach for the past 7 years. In his tenure as girl's varsity basketball coach, Paideia’s record improved from 7-16 in 1994-95 to being a consistently state-ranked team today. He is a member of Briarcliff Methodist Church, having served as both a member of the Board of Trustees and the Administrative Board.

A member of WBCA, YBOA, and AAU, Coach Meiere has coached basketball in church leagues, YBOA, AAU and high school for over 20 years. Like Coach Green, a number of his teams have reached the Sweet Sixteen at AAU Nationals, and he co-coached the 1999 18U team to the AAU National Championship.
